Peninsular Warriors - French Chasseurs a Cheval
Tipped off by Jeffers (see earlier comments), that having developed some masters for John Holt, Warrior Miniatures would soon be producing some French Chasseurs a Cheval. Although not yet in the catelogue on the Warrior website, they are available as FNC 37, 38 and 39. I just had to order some and when they arrived I realised that they were lovely figures and just had to be painted. So here they are - charging to head off those pesky Spanish hussars:

Looking more business like than the Spanish hussars. The hussars won't stand!
ReplyDeleteYes, less arm waving and more disciplined!
DeleteYou beat me to it! I've just emailed John a photo of my painted units which I finished last night. I mainly use the walking horse for my cavalry but I'm tempted to get them galloping now as they look great. I'm giving the French dragoon a work over tonight as I think the current one looks more like an Empress Dragoon than a Line Dragoon. I've also offered to do some other bits and bobs for John. These won't be new figures as such, just conversions of the existing range. But I'm really glad you like these - they started life as Line Lancers!
ReplyDeleteI did wonder what the donor figure might be. I had my money on British Light Dragoon with a French head! It has turned out very well. It might be possible to make some Brunswick Hussars?
DeleteI have three headless French line infantry... The trick is to do as little as possible to keep the original style, so head swaps are the order of the day. I've touted a few ideas to John and he's basically just letting me get on with it! Not sure what will follow the dragoons but I am looking into Vistula Legion (mainly to use up the headless Frenchmen). I don't own every figure in the range, so any suggestions for easy conversions are welcome.
DeleteVery smart, Bob
ReplyDeleteThank you. They are very good mouldings.
