Ros 25mm French Imperial Guard

Every once in a while I have a bit of a purge to clear the backlog of Ros figures waiting to be painted.  I sent a load of command figures to figure painter Lee, which he has now returned.

The latest batch off the painting table are some Ros 25mm French Imperial Guard.  The three command figure are by Lee and the troopers were painted by me.

I am quite pleased with the results:

And Finally............

The third and last of my WW2 formations is a British Airborne battlegroup.  The figures are a mix of Revell, ESCI, Italeri the odd Airfix and some Hong Kong copies.  The group is organised as two rifle battalions, a heavy weapons company, a pathfinder group, a light artillery battery and a headquarters group:

The Pathfinders/Recce group.
The Headquarters.
75mm Light Artillery Battery
Support Group, with a 6pdr anti-tank gun, 3" mortar and medium machine gun.
One of the rifle battalions.
I have other WW2 units to organise, but for the time being I am moving on to other projects.

Airfix Battlegroup

I have now completed the balance of forces added to my Airfix Germans to create a nice rounded battlegroup.  There are six Panzer IV tanks, some motorcycle recce troops, a couple of mortars and a 75mm infantry gun.  Apart from the tanks, the motor cycles and other equipment are by other manufacturers, including Fujimi, Zvezda and Matchbox.

Classic Airfix german infantry

I am sure everyone has had at least one box of these figures during their wargaming lifetime.  they have been around for decades.  I have lost count of the number of Airfix Germans that I have owned, painted, sold, bought again and painted once more over the years.

This lot have been in my possession since the 1980s, which is when they were first painted.  Recently I dug them out, tidied them and rebased them.  They are seen here with other Airfix classics, including the 88mm gun and half track as well as the PAK 40 and Opel Blitz truck.

I have converted a few of the figures to give me some anti tank guns and the 88mm crew is also not Airfix:

I am working on some tanks and support troops to create a battle group.  More to come

More Assyrians

Some more Assyrian infantry march off the painting table to join the slowly expanding ancient armies.

These figures are 25mm Garrison Assyrian heavy infantry, armed with a long spear, bow and shield.  They are also quite extensively armoured.
