A few days ago Norman Paterson sent me some more pictures from his collection(s). This time we are taken to the Napoleonic wars in Egypt, with 1/32 French infantry under attack from Mameluk cavalry. They are all beautifully painted. I think the infantry are Airfix and Armies in Plastic, while the cavalry are by Italeri. Enjoy:
During the last week, I managed to finish off two more French line battalions and a Swiss unit. The Swiss are not my work. They were beautifully painted and donated to me by a friend. I touched them up, added the colours, varnished and based them:
Every once in a while I get enormous pleasure from painting the old Airfix plastic figures. With all of their inaccuracies and silly poses, they do look rather delightful after a splash of paint.
Just for fun I renovated these old 'Waterloo' French line infantry. They officer is a conversion, using the head and torso of the mounted figure:
One day, it might be fun to play a small game with these figures.
For the past few weeks I have been paint converting some Warrior French infantry into Nassau and Brunswick troops. yesterday I finished off some Warrior French as er....French, just for a change!
