I am not sure our glorious guards would appreciate being associated with my scrap box; however, here is the latest unit - some British 1st Foot Guards. I have given them white trousers, although I expect they should be wearing grey along with the line regiments, but I wanted them to stand out a little.
These are the first of four infantry Battalions that will make up two British brigades when added to two highland regiments, giving 6 in all. With the Dutch Belgians, this will give an Allied strength of 13 Battalions - and an almost empty scrap box!
Here are the guards:
You seem to have a never ending scrap box there Bob. I have lost count of units you have produced from it.
ReplyDeleteGetting towards the end now. So far it has produced 25 battalions, if you include the Westphalians, the Dutch/Belgians and the British. There are four cavalry regiments and four batteries worth of gunners. I just have to complete a British battery and have four British battalions to finish off then I reckon I will be done. The rest will likely be melted down to make new figures at a later date.
DeleteVery nice Guards unit Bob- the white trousers certainly looks the part- well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, they do stand out from the rest.
DeleteIt's interesting to think poorly performing units could be melted down and recast as something else... On a couple of occasions driving from Cork to Dingle and back I went past the Prinz August factory, never had time to stop
ReplyDeleteA good incentive to perform better. I believe that the PA factory has an enormous Waterloo diorama.
