I have had a box full of plastic Atlantic ancient Egyptian chariots and never got around to doing anything with them. By way of a test, I assembled two and painted them, just to see what they would be like. They are not very accurate representations of Egyptian chariots and the crew compartment is too small for the figures, however, I cut the figure bases to just a sliver and by placing them at a slightly odd angle I managed to squeeze a driver and an archer figure in.
I am quite pleased with the result and I would have thought that 10 or 12 of these would look quite good, painted and based:

They have turned out really well and as you say a dozen of them on the table will look superb!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie, looking at the other sprues there are quite a few archers in the firing position. I think that they will look better. There is also a commander pose. A nice cheap way to provide massed chariots methinks.
DeleteThe Egyptians were probably the most accurate of the Atlantic ancient ranges. The Romans were just awful, which is unforgivable from an Italian company!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeffers, I agree some of the Atlantic figures are real horrors. I particularly dislike the Greek cavalry and their odd chariots. The Romans too are pretty awful, as you say.
