For decades I have struggled with Airfix horses with the separate bases. In the past I have tried various glues and eventually resorted to pinning the hose to the bases using metal pins.
Well, at last, I think I have found a solution. I bought a tube of Loctite Vinyl, Fabric and Plastic Flexible Adhesive and used it on some onf my mounted Napoleonic commanders. It works and provides a strong bond. I hope I now have a solution and will be able to use the mound of unemployed horses.

DeleteThanks, that's really useful to know. If it works on Airfix figures it should work on Merit / Faller trees which seem to be mad of the same sort of ungluable plastic.

DeleteI wish we had this glu years ago - my Airfix horses were/are fixed to their bases using a pin to melt the join. Latterly I have got fed up with those creatures with weak legs and replaced them from other sets. A late comment on all your posts about painted plastic. Very inspiring pictures. I decided that touching up some of the old Airfix French beats starting afresh. My standard is not as high as yours but to my eye they don't look too bad.
