Unboxing the British Armour

More boxes yeild a good collection of British tanks:
They were in pretty good condition with just a few loose wheels, one broken track and the odd missing machine gun. The haul consists of some 11 Shermans, seven Comets (which I recall were used as Cromwells).  I have a feeling that there may be some more Shermans, but so far I cannot find them:

  1. If you have any spare Churchill turrets put them on the Comets. It used to be a cheats way to make a passable Cromwell when 'real' Cromwells were unavailable. Of course, you could build the new Airfix kit, but where's the fun in that...?

    1. That is an interesting idea. Looking at the kits, to my untrained eye, the models seem a bit on the large size. Was the Comet a large tank compared to the Cromwell, Sherman etc?

  2. And if you put the Comet turrets on the Churchills, you could have fleet of Black Prince:)

    1. I might have to invest in a few Airfix Cromwells.

    2. The Frontline resin ones are easier to put together (I've got two).

    3. I had a look and they are nice. They are cheaper than the Airfix kit too!
