Autumn Review - Russian Army 1854

Just before he passed away, Alan Cook entrusted me with his Crimean War and Austro Prussian War collections. These are mostly Minifigs S Range figures, beautifully painted and organised.

I thought it might be nice to show off some of these figures, with the addition of my own collection besides them.  To kick off I have paraded the Russian army.  The combined force is massive and it was difficult to get all of the figures into the frame.  So, I will let the pictures do the talking:

The Russian Army in the Crimea:

First a general shot:

The right wing, cavalry and artillery:

The centre, mostly infantry:

The commander and siege artillery:

The left wing, more cavalry:

A view from the right wing:

I plan to have a similar exercise with the Allied armies, probably in three lots; the British, the French and Sardinian and the Turkish.  I think Alan would approve!

    1. It certainly fills up the table. No room for scenery or anything else for that matter.

  2. A pretty impressive display and one I'm sure Alan would approve of . Of course we will expect to see it in action over the winter months.

    1. Hi Graham, I expect there would be too many figures for a battle, but a campaign perhaps?

  5. Hello there Bob,

Wow! that is really impressive and I reckon some kind of campaign would certainly be the way to go. Lovely looking collection!

    All the best,

    1. Thanks David, a campaign is about the only way I could use all of these figures as I can barely fit one army on my table, let alone five!

  6. Alan would definitely approve, looking forward to seeing the British forces as there quite a few S range conversions that i got cast for Alan, think you need a slightly larger table !!!!

    1. You will recognise quite a few, such as the highlanders in trews and all of those gunners and sappers. I don't think a larger table would help, a larger room maybe!

  7. Fantastic! It would be a great tribute to Alan to keep these in action.
