Something different

One of my new year's resolutions was to try and finish off some of my long abandoned projects. I have a load of 1970s larger Minifigs. Many were started and then shelved as I moved on to other things. Last year I painted some 5 or 6 of these units, this year I hope to do better.

As a starter I have now finished off these guards, that just needed some of the white belts, brass work and bases to be painted. They are now finished:

Not my favourite figures, but they don't look too bad with a dab of paint applied.

  1. Very pretty, as Napoleons 'should' be. I do like Minifigs (most of my French and Austrian armies are Minifigs) as they paint up very nicely.

    1. They look horrid when bare metal and during the early stages of painting - probably why I abandon them; but come alive once finished and based.

  2. They do have a certain charm about them - somewhere in the lead pile I have a unit or two of these fellows.

    1. They are a joy to paint and worth the effort once finally finished.

  3. Very nice Bob...
I am also rather fond of Minifigs... even the ‘beefy’ ones...

    All the best. Aly

    1. Thanks Aly, I am amazed that the same castings from the late 70s are still on sale today. They do look nice when painted and based but to me are very ugly in their raw state.
