Perry's Travel Battle

Last year I bought a couple of sets of Travel Battle, with the aim of having a quick wargame available that I can set up on the dining room table.  Over the last couple of weeks I have been reading the rules and thinking about the types of battles I can fight.

Straight away I knew I would have to paint the board and the figures - but they are very small.  The uniforms are generic and would work for European armies, but are not right for British, in my view. After some thought, I decided to paint an Austrian and a French army.  Here are the Austrians on the painted scenic boards:

  5. I know this thread is old, but I just discovered this game and am kinda hooked. It's just what i'm looking for, simple.
I was able to read the rules and questioned if cavalry should get a bonus die against unsquared infantry indiscriminately? I would think not if infantry in woods/BUAs. Also does infantry always get a bonus die in BUA's or only when being attacked and not when attacking?

    1. Thanks for your comment/question Spearhead. We are not experts regarding this game, having only played a few times. Your comment regarding squares makes sense, although it would need to be play tested to check whether or not cavalry become too strong. Regarding buildings, we always give the advantage to troops in buildings whether attacking or defending. Our maxim was to keep the game simple, especially if using more than one set of figures.
We have considered loads of other ideas and have even thought about a WW2 variation. We have yet to give that a go!
