1/72 Plastic Ancient Egyptian Army

Whilst wading through the sea of white as I rebased the whole of my Warrior Austrians, I painted small groups of plastic 1/72 scale Egyptians. The figures are mostly Atlantic, with a few Zvezda items to make up numbers.

The army consists of 10 chariots, four archer units, six of infantry and a command with escort:

The figures are all quite roughly painted using Speed Paints, but they stand up to the one foot rule. Next, some Hittites.

  1. That is a most impressive army. You are far too self deprecating, they look marvellous!
    Best wishes, James

    1. Thanks James. I think they look OK en masse, but are not so nice close up.

    1. I need to work out what chariots do on the table as i have never played them before. Could be an enormous car crash in the middle!

    1. The Sphinx models seem to command quite a high price. I do have a couple of sets of "At the Pharoes Court' which I will paint in due course. I also have some Resin Egyptian buildings. Atlanic produced some rather odd looking boats too.

  5. They have painted up really well. I have several boxes of Atlantic figures up in the attic but very few of them have made it to the painting table so far.

    1. Thanks Martin. They are quite quick to paint as they don't wear very much! Despite their age, the figures are lovely clean mouldings.
