ACW Restoration Project

Another unit marches off the production line.  This time it is a Minifigs 25mm Confederate regiment.  The figures are listed in the Minifigs catelogue as 'Irregulars', but to me they look pretty much like most confederate infantry in the field.  I have added some browns and buff to add a bit of variety.

These figures were a joy to paint and quite pleasing when finished. Next in line for this project are some Union gunners.

  1. If I remember rightly Minifigs had some strange listings of troop types in their catalogue .

    1. Yes, I seem to remember Russian Crimean troops in helmets were referred to as guards, with the ordinary line wearing flat hats. Also, some of their uniform chices are a bit odd too.

    1. Chubby, but what charm, and you can spot one at a hundred yards as the sculpt style is so uniform.. love those Confederates, especially the moustaches!

  3. Would that be because, in the old day, we would have thought the ‘regulars’ would be wearing kepis? ’

    1. I think in this case the Minifigs regulars wear the same hat, but they are fully equipped with packs, webbing and pouches lookig a bit more soldierly.
