Russian Artillery - ESCI
I thought I would have a go at the other half of the ESCI Russian Crimean War set, which includes a couple of guns and crews. I have never been inspired to paint these before, however, I decided to do a head swap for the gunners and extend the coat of the officer. The results are OK and this set provides a useful and cheap source of Russian artillery:

Great idea and conversions, cheers Old John
ReplyDeleteMy figures go back to conversions from Arabs and WW I Germans as suggested in Airfix Mag 1968. Like you I now have Esci.

Hi Stephen, like you I grew up painting and converting Airfix plastics - something I still do from time to time. We are now blessed with so many figure ranges to choose from that conversions are not quite so essential. Do you still have your old Airfix figures?
