British Siege Artillery - Strelets

Having made the gabions it was time to finish off the guns and crews. This is the remainder of the British siege artillery set from Strelets, consisting of two heavy cannon and crews. Here is gun number one:

    They look great Bob. My lot are off with the painter and will probably not see the battlefield this year.

    Have you have a prefered set of siege rules?

    That said, we're possibly looking at a Crimean game in October. General Du Gourmand and I were discussing the possibility. I was wondering, do you reckon the Turks at Balaklava would be in winter uniforms at that stage?

      Thanks. I have not given much thought to siege rules, I was thinking more along the lines of a number of scenarios, such as the storming of the Redan or Malakof. I do have a set of siege rules at home (I think by Stuart Asquith), but I have not delved into them to any extent. On Turks, my understanding that in October 1854 it was still pretty hot and dry and most of troops would have been very much in warm weather mode - but by November (Inkerman) it was much colder.
      Would be interested to know more about you game plans for October. What part of the world are you in?

    I think as Conrad, great paintjob and they fit together. A siege artillery is something I am missing in my collection too.
